Robert “Bob” John Holland, a 1977 graduate of Martin High School, died Tuesday, Dec. 5. He was 64.

Born June 18, 1959, in Kalamazoo, he was an accomplished builder and was passionate about woodworking. He possessed a great deal of knowledge in the field and could fix just about anything.

Bob spent a lot of time appreciating nature with long walks observing animals, hunting, fishing and foraging.

His grandchildren were the light of his life and he passed along to them much knowledge and photos of creatures and bugs he encountered on his journeys.

He also was a devout Christian.

He is survived by his daughters, Ashley (Jordan) Dalstra, Amber (Kevin Holcomb) Holland; grandchildren Noah Dalstra and Jedidiah and Jolene Holcomb; his mother, Judith Mann; brothers Richard (Melissa) Holland and Bryan (Tracy Singles); sister Alicia Lober and her children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Holland.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Westside Church of Christ, 1400 North 9th St. in Kalamazoo.
