Joan Gross, 91, died Sunday Sept. 29.

Joan loved music and played violin with the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony. She was gifted in crafts such as sewing, and needle works. Joan shared her passion for quilting and afghans with others by donating her works to local organizations such as the VFW, Allegan Medical Care Community and Faith Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Gross, and her parents, Clayton and Mildred Baugh. She is survived by her children Valerie (Dale) Harrison, Daniel (Laila) Jager, Shelley (Jeff) Ladd; 4 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Alan (Lois) Baugh; and many extended relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St.. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct.4, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home. Joan will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland.

In memory of Joan and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Church of Wayland.
