Larry Melvin Hale, age 77, died Sunday, Dec. 5, at home.

Larry enjoyed working with his dad at Farnsworth Chevrolet for 22 years, then he went to Eaton, from where he retired, working in the military and aircraft division. Larry looked forward to the spring to spend time outdoors with his family and particularly enjoyed mushroom hunting. He loved spending time fishing and boating and with friends in the neighborhood. Larry’s two dogs, Shadow and Rocky, were a special part of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janice Hale; brother, Brent (Rita); sister, Pam (Rex); children Shawna Merren, Faith Corner, Larry Hale, Heather Hale, and Brandi Hale; stepson, Greg Stratton; as well as 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Kathryn Hale; brother, David Hale; and a stepson, Paul Stratton Jr.

Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel, with an hour of visitation with the family prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
