Felix Pankratz, age 99 of Wayland, formery of Marshfield, WI, died Friday, Dec. 16.

Felix enjoyed bowling, gardening, working with wood and metal and golfing; he had a hole in one at the age of 75.

Felix was a member of Saint Therese Church, where he was a member of the Usher Club. He was an honorary lifelong member of Knights of Columbus, director of K of C Building corporation and K of C Knight of the year three times. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and a past commander.

Felix served on the Tax Board of review for 13 years in Wayland and was Veteran of the year in 2004 for the City of Wayland.

He is survived by his son, Lee (Kathy) Pankratz; daughters Barb (Dan) Calkins, Paula (Gary) Fales, Amy (Dave) DeShaw; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 312 N. Main St., Wayland, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20. Prayers of the Rosary will be said at 4 p.m., led by the Knights of Columbus.

Felix’s life will be celebrated at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, with visitation from 10 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Felix will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Hospice or St Therese Catholic Church.
