Richard “Rich3835197” L. Miller, 83, of Hopkins, died Monday, Aug. 8, at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, Mich. He was 83.

Mr. Miller was born in Burnips on May 22, 1933, the son of Gottlieb and Elsie (Moomey) Miller. Rich spent more than 25 years working for the Keebler Company in Grand Rapids, retiring in 1998. Besides providing for his family through the Keebler Company, Rich also owned and ran his own dairy farm, with his late wife, Donna, for more than 30 years. He had a true passion for gardening and loved raising fruits and vegetables, which helped Donna prepare meals for the family, along with tasty desserts.

Wanting to look back at his activities through the years, Rich enjoyed keeping a journal of his daily events to provide memories for his family in the days and years ahead.

Rich is survived by his children: Sharon Miller-Walcott and Steve Walcott, Charles and Bertha Miller, Eileen and Clyde Chapman, James Miller, Teresa and Jeff Ellis, Kevin and Oralia Miller, Nicholas and Maria Miller; twelve grandchildren: Dan, David, Tom, Chelsey, Alexandra, Stan, Christopher, Samantha, Gloria, Katy, Kassie and Jordan; six great-grandchildren: Aiden, Abigail, Natalie, Tyler, David and Taylor; and one sister: Mary Lee Hartman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents, Gottlieb and Elsie Miller; an infant son, Alan Miller; three sisters: Wilma Rynbrandt, Agnes Thompson and Florence Newall; and three brothers, William, Orvin and Alvin.

Friends may meet with the family from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Sally K. Harrington officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township.
