The South Main Street reconstruction project in Wayland today featured the installation of sidewalks on the east side of the street near the VFW post. South Main has been shut down to traffic all summer as crews have been working to create a turning lane from Sycamore Street south to 133rd Avenue, which is being closed off to traffic except for one lane. Officials estimate that the project will be completed by sometime next month.
