The “Lost Weekend” continued its effects on West Michigan’s wintery landscape Monday. There was enough snow that visited Friday, Saturday and Sunday to close schools, churches and other community events. Some Wayland school teachers reported on Facebook that they were grateful school was called off Sunday evening before the Detroit Lions playoff game against the LosAngeles Rams, enabling teachers, staff and some students to watch the televised game to the end around 11 p.m. There were Facebook reports that some roads off the beaten path still were not plowed, making travel a dicey proposition for Monday morning. Some cancelations were reported to be the result of wind chill temperatures of below zero.
