The main day-use beach house, picnic shelters and Gun Lake campground will close for the entire 2024 season due to park enhancements, including electrical and building updates and sewer replacement. The park’s day-use area and boating access site also will experience intermittent closures throughout 2024 while road, fishing pier and other sewer upgrades take place. A proposed $5.5 million in federal relief funding from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Building Michigan Together Plan made these and other renovations possible.
