Bill and Denise Gardner Meissner Brisbin have purchased the old Monterey General Store and opened “Stop, Shop and Roll” June 15. Denise worked at Harding’s in Otsego for more than 22 years before it closed its doors officially on May 18. The couple purchased the former Monterey Center General Store and spent two weeks remodeling the inside. “Our start has been quiet because we’re waiting on the Liquor and beer license,” Denise remarked. “I’m still excited about the response from the community and the sales so far. I feel good about the future. We know there’s much more work ahead of us. I also know I have the perfect partner for this adventure.”

We, also, had to wait to get our Liquor license transferred. I got hold of our State Representative at the time was Bob Genetski. He was more than happy to help guide the paperwork through. Our current State Rep is Steve Johnson. Talk to them that is what they are there for–. I actually had a discussion with our Lt Governor about the ridiculous laws they have–all the red tape to cut through–and dealing with the liquor board.. Hope this helps–Hope you have great success
