Sylvia Jean Nickerson, age 82, died at home in Wayland Friday, June 30.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Bud and Mary Humphrey, Robert and Elizabeth Nickerson, Steve and Cyndi Nickerson, Ray and Melinda Castaneda, Leonard and Janet Johnson; grandchildren Trevor and Alli Humphrey, Hillary Nickerson, Alan and Alicia Nickerson, Thomas Heyboer, Sabrina Nickerson, Toni Carpenter, Jenna Potter and Joey Schloff, Rabecah Redding, Rachael Redding and Aaron Kelsey, Johnny Johnson; great-grandchildren Cora Humphrey, LilyJane Rosellini, Alice Nickerson, Iris Nickerson, Natalie Carley, Parker Kortokrax, Raiiya Carpenter, Beau Carpenter, Paisley Schloff, Myra Schloff, Carter Schloff, Clayton Schloff, Armani Eatman, Brooklyn Eatman, Aaron Kelsey, Alexandria Kelsey; bonus special daughter, Monica Sexton; special friends Dave and Annie; and many extended relatives and friends.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Sylvia will be laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas Nickerson, at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland
