The band Wayland, co-founded by Wayland High School graduate Phillip Vilenski, has been suspended indefinitely

A bandmate of Vilenski posted on Facebook for his 43rd birthday last week:

“Over the last few months we haven’t been very active on socials or playing shows, we both shifted our focus toward figuring out exactly what we want for our futures. We will both always wholeheartedly support each other through anything and everything moving forward, that will never change.

”We’re both at peace with our decision, to set Wayland the band down indefinitely. We are so proud of the music we’ve made, the friends we’ve made, and the lives we’ve touched. First and foremost, we want to thank everybody who has ever called themselves a Wayland Warrior. Thank you for traveling to the shows, calling radio stations, buying merch, voting online, commenting on posts, sharing the music, and turning it up as loud as it will go.

“The two of us are so grateful for all the musicians who have joined us on stage and in the studio, the managers believed in us, the producers who brought out the best in us, the promoters who took a chance on us, the radio folks who welcomed us in and gave us the opportunity to reach so many hearts, and the bus drivers and crew members who were in the trenches with us. “

The music will still be available to stream. We love you, and don’t ever forget to Get a Little!

Local fan Lynne Fahrne said, “Thank you to the band Wayland for sharing your music with us all of these years! We are going to miss you.”
