There are now three candidates for 57th District Judge in Allegan in the 2026 August primary election.
The latest entry, Tim Slais of Fennville, introduced himself to the Wayland City Council Monday evening.
Slais told the City Council he has a background in and offers support for law enforcement and he was a prosecutor.
He added that he has been a police officer, prosecutor, defense attorney and courtroom advocate.
In his literature, Slais said he believe a judge “must be a careful listener, fairly apply the rules of law, and treat everyone who comes before the court with respect and dignity.”
The other two candidates who have declared their candidacy are Watson Township Supervisor Kevin Travis and longtime attorney Heidi Wolf, a Wayland High School graduate.
All three are vying to succeed the retiring Judge Joseph Skocelas.
