Thirteen Hopkins High School band students qualified for the State Solo and Ensemble Festival March 17 by earning Division 1 ratings at the District Solo and Ensemble Festival Saturday at Holland West Ottawa High School. All students competing received a high enough rating to medal. The qualifying students were Chad Steffes, Nolan Pickett, Becca Colby, Hailey Burch, Laura Velderman, Isabel Henrickson, Olivia Barry, Jeremy Schultz, Alex DeGraves, Brooklyn Keenan, Sarah Pendock, Faith Kelly and Valerie Nagengast.
