This is Barry Hastings signing off. It’s his swan song

EDITOR’S NOTE: Barry Hastings has been writing this column for Townbroadcast for about two years, but he has to give it up for economic and health reasons. No, he wasn’t chased off by Ranger Rick, Free Market Man or Army Bob. But he said he has enjoyed making friends and enemies among his readers and detractors. “Democracy is an ongoing argument.”

‘Blue-suit man’ Stalks Hillary

by Barry Hastings

Larry HampIf you missed the first two debates, you might have caught perfect re-runs on the next two Saturday Night Live TV programs. Their right-on-the-mark portrayals of the candidates, and their preparation (or lack thereof), their demeanor (or misdemeanor).

If Donald Trump is as smart as he thinks he is, he’d spend some time preparing, instead of relying on bluster, attempted (yes) attempted intimidation, repeatedly attempted. His clownish insults fell flat. His scandals are growing exponentially. As in the first go-round, Hillary Clinton stayed right on course, speaking to needs of our country and knowing the facts.

Trump really came across as thug in the second “de-bait.” His minions thought he was wonderful. He sure makes me wonder. There has never been such a know-nothing freak show as the one we’re caught up in, right now. Trump thinks he can “will” success. Can he?

I think a good many of us know what will follow — a solid Trump “thumping,” loud wails! bewildering cries of “we’ve been cheated,” and many other smokescreens for his own use of something that made his nose run, badly, for a whole segment of de-bait. Oh, there will be much pulling of his vaunted implants (or whatever is combed-back over a very pink pate).

About Donnie’s post second debate innuendo regarding Clinton’s being on drugs. Frankly, since he is a “Star” and runs with the Stars, I believe the Donald owes us a urine sample or two. Maybe even a blood test. No thanks (you bum), we’ve already heard and seen enough of your merde.

His claim the election is “rigged” against me.” The whine of a spoiled, unlikeable brat — like the guy in the TV ad, “I get what I want, when I want it.” It only happens in TV commercials, and fairy tales. I believe our countrymen and women will relegate this evil, over-grown, (apparently) over-sexed fool, to the pages of pop-history, or speculative fiction. Enough of the ass. (I’d have said “comic-book fiction,” but this is a matter for concern, not levity.

For the future, I expect Donald Trump will be the person whose every action in business and politics will be very closely watched — government employees, Federal Law enforcement.and civil servants are few among his “deplorables,” Most decent people detest the “Lie a day” and “Grope a woman a day” candidate who is trying his best every day, to destroy America. My goal today, tonight, tomorrow, and particularly election day, is to see these people in the dust — and I mean, in the dust where you can no longer see, hear, or smell them.

I never thought I’d see the day when America’s worst enemies were home grown. But these Trump people are cowardly back-stabbers, racists, sexists — and, (in case you thought I’d made a mistaken diagnosis a week or so ago), TRAITORS. Deport them to Russia.

I’m getting pretty damned sick of lying GOP candidates blaming the mess in the Middle East on Democrats. Sure, some of them backed the Shrub’s oil prospecting venture there in 2003, and why not? We’ve been told for 200 (plus) years our presidents serve the whole nation, not just the party governing. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld (and don’t forget ‘Toothsome Smile’) lied (and knew they were lying) when they told us, the Congress, the Secretary of State, all of our old, and best allies, about Saddam’s phony (non-existent) “weapons of mass destruction” cache.

MuckrakerThere were personal motives for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld there (as well as for thousands of wealthy GOP investors). All had hefty financial investments in the Haliburton Corporation, likely the biggest corporate rip-off artists in our history. Except for the big banks, that is. Halliburton, others, ripped the nation off for billions of dollars, and for years, not only a few months. Just a few month after the invasion we were in deep trouble there. Shrub, Cheney, and Bumsfeld lied to every American, Now, the whole lying bunch blame the folks who trusted the liars. Hardly anyone believed the president of our nation would lie to us (and the whole world) about so serious a situation.

Those liars failed to deliver an assault force in Iraq that could both capture territory; and hold it. There was never enough manpower to guard surrendered Iraqi troops. Shortly, BCR concluded they’d have to release captured Iraqis. Most joined the Mullahs in brewing up continuing Civil War.

Are they Nazis, or Nazis at heart? I’m convinced Trump is cut from the original Hitler pattern. Unbelievable, even fantastic lies — his minions believe every word. Trump speaks and acts like a man of Putin’s KGB upbringing.

My generation learned how to fight a war from the mouths of the best army, and the best soldiers, the nation has produced — ever. The World War II army was built from nothing, to the best trained, best equipped, best armed military in the world. Attacked by the Japanese, soon joined by the Germans and (heh, heh) the Italians (who contributed little, if anything, to their combat strength). We kicked their asses, every last one of them, after redirecting our economic power, and building a 15-million man military — land, sea and air power, all happening at the same time. We were also feeding, supplying, arming (guns, ships, planes, tanks, food) to Russians, Brits, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, and many other peoples around our world. These people were not braggarts or bullies. But they were morally tough (and didn’t grope strange women — most of ’em).

The nation was under as serious a threat to well-being as we are now with the Trump candidacy,

They did the necessary, and prevailed. Hell’s Bells, we can’t prevail over a bunch of ignorant Muslim killers, now, because we’ve forgotten how to work together in emergencies. A large number (but no where near enough) of people are willing let one man (very much un-knowledgeable) destroy the work, victories in war, many tragedies.

We should be proud of our scientific knowledge and endeavors, knowledge (many very good, some not so much) of the modern world, and great human successes of 242 years trying (not always successfully) to do the right thing. When this nation goes astray, it’s usually some rodent; Nixon, Bush, Coolidge, Reagan – slight-of-hand men. The only demo I can think of, who had a real impact, was the cold-blooded killer, Andrew Jackson. But he had something few of the Republicans mentioned have. It’s called “personal courage.”

There was not a single candidate in the GOP primary, with an ounce of it. Donald Trump is in no way fit to lead this nation, our military; or to set a good example for America (and of America), her hopes for humanity. I’ll tell you this, among all these silver haired (glib liars tho) Republican politicians running here, there, everywhere, I’ve seen few I’d want my kids (or yours) to serve under in war, anywhere.

Republicans have treated our twice-elected current president like merde! To avoid having to work in harness with a black man, Republicans are “the ones to blame” for the sorry condition of our military (through sequestration. Thousands and thousands of dead, badly wounded, mentally tortured American soldiers are the responsibility of the U.S. government

The chinless, self-serving Republican dinks, senate and congressmen) have not led our country, no, they forced the country to the condition it’s now in. I don’t like ’em, can’t stand ’em (“Can’t standya Costanza!”).
