Tony Bartell dies after return to hometown Wayland

Anthony (Tony) Bartell, died at his home in Wayland on Monday, Jan. 25. He was 62.
Tony was born Jan. 8, 1959, in Grand Rapids, to Thomas and Emelda Bartell. He lived in Wayland until shortly after his high school graduation, then moved to his dream place, Beaver Creek, Colo., near Vail.
Tony was a real estate broker in Beaver Creek for many years. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and skiing in his Colorado home. His real love was traveling to Alaska and fishing in the off season for real estate.
Tony was a free spirit and not a rule follower, he preferred to make his own. He moved back to Wayland after suffering a massive stroke in 2015 and lived here until his death.
Tony was preceded in death by father Thomas Bartell, mother Emelda Bartell, brother Thomas Bartell, half brother Terry Bartell and nephew Terry Bartell.
He is survived by John Bartell, brother, Sara Sexton (Bruce) sister, nieces Michelle Arendsen, Emily Lenard (Ben), Colleen Bartell, Jackleen Bartell and nephews Jeremy Ballard, Nick Sexton and John Bartell. Great nephews Austin(Xandria) Wooten and Ryan Arendsen, Great nieces Aubree Wooten and Evelyn Boss
