Multiple traffic accidents on the U.S. 131 expressway on the northbound and southbound lanes near Plainwell and Martin caused vehicles to slow to a stand still Friday. Martin Fire and Rescue, Plainwell EMS, Wayland EMS,and Plainwell Fire Department were kept very busy. Meanwhile, a semi was overturned under the overpass at 146th Avenue near the Kent and Allegan County lines, making the day a hectic one for emergency and rescue personnel.
