Most villages, towns, townships, etc. in this area plan to observe Halloween trick-or-treating on Sunday from roughly 5 to 8 p.m., but Martin’s will be Saturday evening, Oct. 30. Hopkins Township firefighters will be out from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday to assist safety in crossing Main Street and various locations. A department spokesman said, “Please be courteous and slow down (even less than 25 mph) when in high pedestrian areas. (The department) started over 10 years ago providing crossing areas in town on Halloween night after a captain at the time witnessed a child get hit by crossing the road. At the time Tom Iciek recommended we can do something and since we HAVE.”
