The Wayland seventh grade band and high school band Tuesday received first division (superior) ratings from adjudicators at the Michigan High School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) spring festival, which was held for the first time in Wayland, at the Fine Arts Center. The eighth grade band earned a second division (excellent) rating as well. Director Kelli Tilley Smith announced that both the high school and seventh grade bands earned straight division one ratings from all judges.
