University of Michigan Health-West will have a final beam-topping celebration at the site of the new U-M Health-West Wayland Health Center on West Superior Street from 11:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 6.

The beam-topping celebration marks a significant milestone in the development of the new Wayland Health Center, which is scheduled to open in May 2024. The center will be more than 75 percent larger than the current office on Eeast Superior across from Wayland High School, encompassing 17,300 square feet. This expansion will enable UM Health-West to add primary care and specialty providers to meet the needs of the region’s growing population.

Representatives from U of M Health-West and Wayland community leaders will be on hand to discuss the progress of the project and the comprehensive health care services the new center will offer. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the site.

Parking is available directly across the street from United Bank, on the south side of West Superior.
