U.S.-131 reopened south from 146th Ave. crash site

The 146th Avenue overpass on U.S.-131 north of Dorr has been removed to allow motorists to go south on the freeway. The bridge was struck by a semi-truck carrying a heavy backhoe Monday, Nov. 3.

The southbound lanes of US-131 were closed from 100th Street to 142nd Avenue, but the expressway stretch has been reopened since. However, 146th Avenue west from the freeway is closed.

The 146th Avenue bridge also was struck last August by a semi-truck thought to be too tall for the overpass. The was closed for a spell so the beams could be replaced.
