Veteran Joseph Larson being laid to rest today

Joseph Allen Larson Sr.,died Tuesday, March 24, at his home in Wayland. He was 83.

Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors and camping. He also enjoyed playing cards and bowling, and especially time spent with his family.

He served his country in the United States Army in the 75th Field Artillery Regiment.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anna Larson; sons Joseph Larson Jr., Anthony Larson, Johan Larson, Andrew Larson, and William Larson; siblings Karen (Jim) Baker, Gary Larson, and Joan McConnon; sister-in-law, Carol Ford; brothers-in-law Kenneth Ford Sr. and Thomas Ford; and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Elizabeth Larson; sister, Elsie Claflin; brothers Pete Larson and Terry Larson.

Joseph will be laid to rest at noon Friday, March 27, at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery, 2894 Patterson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids.

In memory of Joseph and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a veteran’s organization of one’s choosing.
