Lynn Carpenter Sr., age 73, died of Covid Friday, Feb 4.

Lynn was born in Plainwell on Aug. 27, 1948. He worked for Heckman Furniture, making cabinets for more than 20 years and retired in 1990. Lynn was married to Peggy Harrington, for 40 years.

Lynn enjoyed tinkering around with different projects in his and his son’s shop.

Lynn is survived by two children Lynn (Shannon) Carpenter Jr. and Dody (Jeremy) Smeenge; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Wayne Carpenter, Rick Carpenter, and Kim Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Carpenter; mother, Inez Carpenter; and brother, Joe Carpenter.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family may visit Lynn’s family from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Windsor Woods Community Center, 1135 W. Superior St., Wayland (In front of the mobile home community). A short service will be held at noon and celebration of life immediately following with a luncheon.
