The Voice of Hope Church, which met at the Wayland High School Fine Arts Center, will close with its last service Sunday, March 5.

The announcement was made public by Pastor Rick R. Cristy after a congregational meeting Sunday morning, Feb. 5.

The church was established in 2005 and Cristy was installed as pastor in May 2012. Though services were conducted at the Fine Arts Center, the church had offices in a pole barn at 788 135th Ave. east of the city limits, where special programs and some services were held.

Voice of Hope partnered with the United Methodist Church, New Life Church and Gun Lake Community Church on a number of joint church projects and it had a mission trip to Honduras several years ago. It also was involved in the Mega Sports camps at the City Park over several summers.
