There once was an Oscar-winning movie called “The Lost Weekend,” starring Ray Milland, but today NE Allegan County residents are living with “The Lost Week.”
Though weather had nothing to do with closing two of the three local public schools on Monday, Jan. 19, all of them have had to call off classes for the entire week, one day at a time.
Prodigious snowfall amounts, ice accumulations, frigid temperatures and blustery winds have combined to create challenging conditions for motorists, pedestrians and plans for any community activities.
Perhaps this is a good time to remind residents that Wayland’s fire station on West Superior Street is the designated place for a warming station.
