Bales of hay that fell off a truck onto the U.S.-131 expressway at 124th Avenue caused Allegan County Sheriff’s office deputies to be summoned.
There is some suspicion that the truck struck the overpass, causing the hay to take a tumble. Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) officials arrived at the scene of the incident in Wayland Township, which occurred just before 5:30 p.m.
The possible bridge strike caused closure of the southbound highway but it has since reopened. There were no reports of any injuries.
