Watson Township Trustee Chuck Andrysiak died Monday from injuries in a car accident. He was 58.

Andrysiak, who retired as a senior process development specialist at Pfizer in Kalamazoo, served on the Watson Township Board as trustee for the past 12 years. He also was the board’s liaison on the Township Planning Commission and was a Democratic Party delegate.

A 1979 graduate of Hackett High School in Kalamazoo who studied math and general business while attending Western Michigan University, Andrysiak was chairman of the Planning Commission and was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

He also was a member of the Allegan County Historical Society.

He was born Sept. 10, 1961, in Kalamazoo, the son of Eugene and Mary (Kurlenda) Andrysiak.

Chuck enjoyed collecting coins, being outdoors, golfing, hunting, spending time up north, going to garage sales, mushroom hunting and was happiest when surrounded by family.

Surviving are his siblings, Rosalie (Don) Philipp of Alamo, Dick (Evelyn Blain) Andrysiak of Galesburg and John (Debbie) Andrysiak of Martin; eight nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews and his good friend, Lynda Wingfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Rob Philipp.

Friends may visit with Chuck’s family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, and starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m. with Father Paul Redmond officiating.

Burial will follow at Minor Cemetery in Watson Township.
