The Wayland City Council Monday night elected officers for the local Zoning Board of Appeals.
Mayor Pro Tem Joe Kramer was chosen chairman, Councilman Steve Stepek vice chairman and Councilwoman Tracy Bivens secretary.
In other business Monday evening, the council:
• Acknowledged the annual Monster Mash celebration Saturday in the downtown area and set local Halloween hours for 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.
• Officially recognized the number of Planning Commission members as seven. The number recognized before was nine.
• Approved the appointment of Mike Connors to the Tree Board. He joins Gail Hollinger, Jordan Malkov, Eric Whittredge and City Manager Erik Wilson.
