A 21-year-old Wayland man was arraigned Tuesday in Alllegan County District Court on charges of of operating while intoxicated causing death and reckless driving on connection with a fatal traffic crash in Heath Township July 17.

Jacob Scot Damron is accused in connection with the deaths of newlyweds Logan and Hannah Allbaugh near the corner of M-40 and 128th Avenue, south of Hamilton. Allegan County Sheriff’s authorities said said Damon’s vehicle ran the stop sign at the intersection, killing the Allbaughs and injuring Duane McDonald.

Logan Thunderland Allbaugh, 24, of Holland, and his wife Hannah Mae Allbaugh, 22, of Zeeland had been married June 23.

Damron also has been charged with operating while intoxicated causing serious injury and reckless driving causing serious injury, and carrying a concealed handgun, which deputies say they found in his vehicle. Authorities also have indicated Damron tested positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
