Wayland man arrested in shooting at Windsor Woods

Wayland City Police Monday evening arrested a 24-year-old Male local resident after an apparent shooting in the 3500 Block of the Windsor Woods mobile community.

Wayland Police, Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies and Gun Lake Tribal Police officers responded to a 911 call at 11:24 p.m. The located a suspect vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. Officers recovered a 9mm semi automatic pistol from the suspect and vehicle, and other evidence was located at the address on Windsor Woods.

The suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.

The suspect has been charged with the shooting, and other gun violations. It is believed there was only one shooter, and he is the only one in custody. This assault appears to have resulted from a dispute between two parties, and was not random in nature.

Police said there were no injuries.
