
A 24-year-old Wayland man died Saturday after being electrocuted and falling 30 feet, according to officers from the Ludington Police Department.
Officers said the man was working on a boom lift, a piece of construction equipment, that was about 30 feet in the air, when he came in contact with live electrical lines, causing him to fall.
Police said the victim was unresponsive and not breathing when they arrived. The man was an employee at a gutter installation company
Officers and two bystanders made life saving efforts. He then was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Consumers Energy shut off electricity to business and residences in the downtown district in the wake of the incident.
