Wayland mayor lobbys Washington on behalf of trails

Jennifer Antel (right), program manager for West Michigan Trails, mayor of Wayland, and Michigan Municipal League vice president, was is in Washington, DC this week, meeting with federal legislators to advocate for transportation authorization.

An MML spokesperson said, “Her leadership reflects the vital connection between local communities and national policy, ensuring that investments in transportation support safer, more connected, and more accessible systems for everyone!

“These conversations matter. Strong partnerships at every level of government help move our communities forward. It’s clear that trails are nonpartisan—they bring people together, support healthy communities, and create lasting impact for all.”
