Tiffany Zheng, an eighth-grader from Wayland Union Middle School, earned the title of championship speller at the Allegan Regional Spelling Bee Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Wayland Union Middle School.

She will advance to the Grand Rapids Bee at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.

Runner-up was Elizabeth French, a sixth-grader from Moline Christian School. 

Five schools participated in the bee: L.E. White Middle School (Allegan Public), East Martin Christian, Moline Christian, Pine Street Elementary and Wayland Union Middle School.
