Wayland native Kenneth Pratt, 94, dies in Plainwell

Wayland native Kenneth I. Pratt, 94, of Parchment, died Tuesday, Nov. 27,  at Life Care Center of Plainwell.
Ken was born April 24, 1924, in Wayland, the son of Ray and Beatrice (Everhart) Pratt. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II and worked as a store manager at Fox’s and Budd’s Jewelry Story for many years. Ken married Evelyn “Evie” Pratt on March 15, 1952, and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage prior to Evie’s death in January 2016.
Members of his family include 3 children: Mark (Lynn) Pratt, Karen Pratt and Mike (Cheryl) Pratt; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pratt; and sister, Bernice Heydenberk.
Services will beat1 p.m. Thursday the Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes, 6080 Stadium Drive; Kalamazoo (269) 375-2900, with visitation beginning at noon. Burial with military honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
