Wayland School Board President Tom Salingue loses seat

salingue_tomWayland Board of Education President Tom Salingue lost his four-year seat in Tuesday’s election.

Salingue had the lowest total among five candidates running for four seats.

Veteran board member Theresa Dobry had the highest number of votes with 3,654, incumbent Trustee Gary Wood was next with 3,302, newcomer Dan Cassini was third with 3,228 and another newcomer, Cinnamon Mellema, had 2,983. Salingue had 77 fewer votes than Mellema at 2,906.

Rosemary Andrews won the only seat for Martin School Board, as hers was the only name on the ballot. One other post remains.

In Hopkins, incumbent Jeff Gilder and newcomer Traci Rhodes were elected without opposition.
