Wayland Union Schools is sharing the first peek of the finalized design renderings for the new band room and practice spaces at Wayland Union High School.
Local officials said it was determined to be more cost effective and provide even better space and functionality for a new band space to be built adjacent to the Fine Arts Center instead of in the old pool footprint.
The new band room will provide both practice room and ensemble rehearsal spaces along with ample instrument storage and a space designed for acoustic safety. The space is scheduled to be complete and ready for students by late fall, 2026 (subject to change).
The new band room is part of the bond project approved by voters in May 2023.
A spokesperson for the district said, “The WUS community values our fine arts programs and students and our bond committee worked hard to communicate the need for this functional new space. We are thrilled to see these finalized plans.”
