Wayland High School sophomore Charity Laker has earned a spot in the state Division 2 wrestling tournament at Ford Field in Detroit March 6 and 7.
She punched her ticket this past weekend by finishing third in her weight division in the regionals, winning three of her four matches. She lost her first bout 17-11, but came back to win the next three, including a pin over the girl who beat her earlier in the tournament.
Charity also is a member of the Wildcat girls’ basketball team. She is the daughter of Kara and Lance Laker.
