The annual Wayland Summerfest celebration this year will be held downtown Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 7, 8 and 9.

“We have some new items, improved activities and we’re bringing back all the greats,” said Main Street Executive Director Holli McPherson.

The following is a sketch of the events planned for this weekend:

Friday, from 6 to 11 p.m.

• Concert and Foam Party in Downtown Wayland. Frank Chrisman Band (a local favorite) and Rick Deez Band will take the stage at the four corners downtown.

Saturday, June 8, all day

• Summerfest Pancake Breakfast at the Wayland Fire Department from 7 to 10:30 a.m.

• Wayland’s Car Show, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the City Park.

• Main Street Color Run at noon Food Trucks, vendors, mini-golf, video game trailers.

• Three-on-three basketball tournament
• Petting zoo and horse rides.

• Princesses, mermaids, superheros, sensory activities, Henna Artist Caricature Artist.

• Eating contest 2:30 to 3 p.m.
• Axe throwing, corn hole tournament (Register at the Wayland Hotel).

• Food and drink specials in the Downtown Wayland Social District.

Sunday, 9 to 11 a.m.

• Worship in the Streets by NewLife Wayland.
