Former Grand Rapids Press and Wayland Penasee Globe reporter Patricia K. Staley, age 70, of Wayland, died Sunday, July 16.
A trustee on the Wayland Township Board, Pat also was a public relations specialist for the Gun Lake Casino. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1965.
She also was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Dorr Business Association and Wings of Hope Hospice. Pat cared about people and shared her time with them. At home, she loved to read and paint. She and husband Jerry enjoyed traveling together, especially to Daytona Beach, Florida and Southwest Utah.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 50 years, Jerry Staley; her daughters, Angela (Jim) Snyder, Heather Staley (Tom Torkko); her grandchildren, Conor, Shane, Jamie, and Ethan Snyder; her siblings, Barbara (Forrest) Mitchell, Dennis Noble, Glenn (Dee Dee) Noble, Susan (Wayne) Wilcoxson, and Judy Noble.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Laura Noble; her brothers, Ronald, Richard, and Robert Noble; and her sisters, Shirley McAndrew and Nancy Grevenstuk.
A time for relatives and friends to visit with Pat’s family will be held from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Wayland, 312 N. Main St.Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Friday, July 21, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 159 – 131st Avenue, in Wayland. Father Alfonse Savarimuthu will officiate. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
In honor of Patricia, contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
