Vanessa Jansen of Wayland has earned a “Master Angler” patch from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources ater catching a 36-inch Northern Pike out of Swan Lake earlier this year. A DNR spokesperson indicated anglers can win only one patch per species per year under the rules, regardless of whether the fish is kept or released.
