The third annual Wayland Balloonfest will be held Friday, Sept. 8, and Saturday, Sept. 9, at Calkins Field, just north of the Wayland city limits on Division (10th Street).
The two-day festival, the brainchild or local business owners Nissa Smith and Anthony Winters, will include a kids’ carnival, car show, vendor event, live music and, of course, balloon flights and a “Balloon Glow.” Food trucks and a Meet and Greet with the pilots also will be part of the celebrations.
“We have over 14 food trucks,” said Winters. “Yes, we have Elephant ears this year. (S.S. Bailey) Over 60 craft vendors and homemade gifts, bounce houses for the kids and adults.”
Balloon flights and displays are weather dependent, taking place only when conditions permit.
