The Byron Center High School volleyball team is headed to Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek at 4:30 p.m. this Thursday to take on Farmington Hills Mercy in the state semifinals. The Lady Bulldogs’ coach is Missy Ritz-Johnson, a former standout Wayland HIgh School basketball, volleyball and softball player who graduated in 1988. Her daughter, Mallory Johnson, is an all-state performer in the sport for the Bulldogs. Byron Center swept Ann Arbor Skyline in three sets Tuesday night at Gull Lake High School in the quarterfinals.
