Diane Wolf Simkins, WHS grad, dies at Virginia home

Diane Marie (Wolf) Simkins, 74, of Norfolk, Va., died at home surrounded by family on Friday, June 30, after a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 23, 1949, near Ovid, MI she was the daughter of the late Jack A and Elizabeth E (Briggs) Wolf. Diane was a graduate of Wayland Union High School.

She retired as an account executive for Matanuska-Susitna Borough, AK, after working for a number of years in Grand Rapids local government. After retirement she crafted essential oil soaps, lip balms and lotions. She enjoyed her research into genealogy and meticulously organized her findings.
Diane was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a never-ending source of support for her family.
She was the wife of Christer Persson, whom she married in 2016.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her three children: Kenneth (Tracy) Simkins of AZ; Kristi (Patric) Simkins-Rogers of WA; and Joseph Simkins of AK; Siblings Jack (Anneke) Wolf, Richard (Cindy) Wolf, Debra (Terrence) Scofield and Timothy (Vickie) Wolf, grandchildren Kyle, Ethan, David, Rachel and Kaelyn and many nephews and a niece.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

    Interesting that you change the wording from “… passed away …” to “… died…”. Yet you copy everything else word for word from the official obituary, that I wrote.
    Why would you do that?
    Words mean something, people … How strange
