WHS grads team up to win bowling tourney

In a true rags-to-riches story, Wayland High School graduates Paul Goodwin and Ben Lenard Saturday pulled off an incredible win after starting the tournament in last place following game one with a 124, in the Holiday Baker Doubles bowling tournament.

They battled all the way back and defeated Ian Carmichael and Cadyn Pranger in the finals in a thrilling, two-game total pinfall barnburner that came right down to the end. The lads will split a $1,000 first prize.

Goodwin was coach this past fall for the undefeated Wayland High School junior varsity football team.

A tournament spokeperson said, “We had a great turnout with 37 teams, even after slightly overbooking the event. Despite a few minor lane issues, everything ran smoothly overall, and the atmosphere was fantastic.”
