Wayland Union High School senior Cassidy Martens is a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

More than 1.5 million students nationwide take the PSAT National Merit Scholarship Test and only the top 1% qualify as semi-finalists.

Cassidy’s academic and extra-curricular activities include founder of Eco Club, president of Key Club, Vice President of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), member of the local chapter of the National Honor Society, member of MAP tutoring, member of Michigan Youth in Government and competitive dancer at Dorr Dance Academy.

She is undecided on where to attend college, but plans to work on a major in public policy
