Word on the street is that Bell’s Colonial Kitchen, in Dorr, which closed recently, has been purchased by a Hispanic couple from Fennville, fueling speculation it will reopen as a Mexican restaurant.
Laura Bell, who had been of Bell’s Colonial Kitchen, since June 2020, shuttered the eatery in November because of staffing difficulties and lack of enough business to keep it running.
Ms. Bell opened the eatery in June 2020, a few month after Kerry Brower Schaendorf closed it during the Covid pandemic in April of that year. The Colonial Kitchen had been owned and operated by Scott and Marsha Brower since 1980 and they turned it over to daughter Kerry in 2011. She said it was her decision then to begin a new chapter in her life after the restaurant was in the hands of the same family for more than 40 years.
Greg Smith posted on Facebook that he was the listing realtor and he had put it on the market.
