Will Lady Wildcats absorb 3 defeats this week?

In its second game in two consecutive nights, the Wayland girls’ basketball team was plagued by offensive problems Wednesday night in a 48-38 defeat at the hands of Grand Rapids West Catholic.

The verdict followed a 58-46 loss to Wyoming, leaving the Lady Wildcats with a 6-3 record in the O-K Gold Conference standings.

South Christian leads the league and is undefeated, West Catholic is right behind the Sailors and Wildcats are in third place.

Wayland failed to make even one three-point field goal attempt for the evening and scored only two points in the entire first quarter,

Addie Sikorski again led the troubled offensive effort with 17 points, I including seven free throws. Marissa Ainsworth added 10 points to the attack.

It doesn’t get any easier later this week. The Wildcats, now 10-3 overall, will play league-leading South Christian Friday night.
