The latest buzz around the Wayland community is about the excavation vehicle located at the former site of Cars2Go, also formerly used by Wayland Chevrolet. That, coupled with the appearance of Dodge trucks and Jeep vehicles on a vacant lot on the east side of Reno Drive, is giving rise to plenty of rumors that K&M Chrysler Dodge wants to move out of its current location at 3611 N. Main St., and move into the huge vacant lot at the corner of Reno Drive and West Superior Street. City Manager Joshua Eggleston acknowledged that it is not uncommon for an interested party to investigate whether there is any contamination at the site before deciding to move in. “I hate speculating, but it’s likely someone doing soil boring/environmental work prior to making an offer or as part of a conditional offer,” Eggleston said.
