brown-williamWilliam Brown has been hired as new Allegan Area Educational Service Agency superintendent.

Brown, who began his duties Aug. 15, succeeds Mark Dobias, who retired this past summer.

Brown most recently had served as Lenawee Intermediate School District assistant superintendent for special education and strategic initiatives. He began his career as a teacher in the Milan school district and later served as middle school principal and special education director.

He moved on to take a post as director of student services at Northville Public Schools and earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Lincoln Memorial University.
He and  his wife, Shelly, now live in Allegan and have two grown children.
