High winds make fire danger even worse

High winds continue area fire danger warnings. The Leighton Township Fire Department today issued this statement: “We are still in a red flag area as ‘very high’ fire danger in Leighton Township. With high wind gusts forecasted and lack of substantial rain, there will be no burn permit issued in Leighton until further notice.”
