Winter storm challenges area motorists and plowers

Apparently they weren’t kidding when meterologists this past weekend predicted a winter storm will visit West Michigan. Schools werre closed, but that’s because they were still on Christmas and New Year’s break, but it was estimated that betyween four and six inches of new white stuff fell. Private and Allegan County plows came to the rescue quickly Monday morning. This time what remained after snow removal was more pavement than ice because 24 hours earlier witnessed a strong rain and temperatures around 50 degrees.
